At the beginning of the story, Kundavai, daughter of Parantaka Chola I, is worried about her younger brother Aditya Karikala. She fears that he will be killed by either the Pallavas or Cholas and therefore wants him to marry a woman from a different dynasty. She also wants him to have at least one son who can rule over the kingdom after their father’s death.Kundavai has good reason to be concerned about her brother: Aditya was born out of wedlock and has no legitimate bloodline behind him whatsoever (he is an illegitimate child).[2] This could make it difficult for him to succeed his father as king because no one else would want such a person as king over their country.[3]
Sundara Pandya sends messengers to meet his beautiful wife Vanathi and to invite them to the royal wedding.

In the meantime, Sundara Pandya sends his soldiers to capture all Pandavas except Bhima. He also wants Bhima dead so that he can take over their kingdom with the help of Kunti's son Parikshit (the ruler of Hastinapura).

Manimekalai is described in the novel as a beautiful and smart princess. She has a brother named Raghu, who is also in love with her. They have been separated for many years due to circumstances beyond their control, but now they are back together again.
Manimekalai has always wanted to help Narasimha Varma because she knows how much he loves Amudha Valli (the heroine). When Manimekalai learns about this news from Raghu, she decides that she will do everything possible for him so that he can get married to Amudha Valli soon!
A Pallava prince named Narasimha Varma is chosen to marry Kundavai and leave for Pazhaiyarai, along with his sister Amudha Valli whom he loves dearly.
Narasimha Varma, the son of Parantaka Chola and Amudha Valli, is chosen to marry Kundavai and leave for Pazhaiyarai, along with his sister Amudha Valli whom he loves dearly.

Conclusion
In all, Kundavai's marriage to Parantaka Chola I and the subsequent events that follow makeup one of the greatest sagas in Tamil history. It is a story of love and sacrifice, but it is also a story about honor, loyalty, and duty.
